Amazon Global Logistics Review & Pricing (2026)

Amazon Global Logistics

Amazon Global Logistics is Amazon's own door-to-door ocean and air freight service for sellers importing inventory. It moves goods from mainland China, Hong Kong, and Vietnam into Amazon fulfillment centers or Amazon Warehousing and Distribution facilities, with booking, payment, and tracking handled inside Seller Central.

It sits upstream of FBA rather than replacing it. The service covers origin pickup, export declaration, cross-border transit, customs clearance at both ends, and delivery into the Amazon network, after which FBA or AWD handles storage and order fulfillment. Enrollment in FBA is required, origin and destination coverage is limited, and rates are quoted per shipment rather than published.

Capabilities
Standard Ocean Freight
Available as full container load or less-than-container load, with cargo either floor loaded or shipped on pallets.
Fast Ocean Freight
An expedited ocean service with shorter transit times than standard ocean on lanes into the United States.
Air Freight
Delivers into the Amazon fulfillment network within roughly 7 to 10 days for time sensitive inventory.
Customs Clearance
Amazon provides customs brokers to handle clearance at both the origin and the destination.
Ship to AWD
Moves full and less-than-container load shipments into Amazon Warehousing and Distribution facilities.
Amazon Managed Placement
A flat per shipment rate that splits inventory across fulfillment centers and includes the FBA inbound placement service.
Seller Managed Placement
Sends products directly to regional Amazon facilities, subject to minimum identical box quantities per item.
Seller Central Booking
Sellers compare ocean options, book, pay, and track cargo without a separate forwarder portal.
Optional Origin Services
Cargo pickup, drayage, palletization, labeling, and cargo insurance can be added at the time of booking.
Strengths
One quote covers origin pickup, export declaration, freight, destination customs clearance, and delivery into the Amazon network.
Booking, payment, and shipment tracking happen inside Seller Central rather than a separate forwarder system.
Amazon Managed Placement folds the FBA inbound placement service into a flat per shipment rate.
Ocean and air modes are both available, so sellers can change speed without changing providers.
Shipments can be routed to Amazon Warehousing and Distribution for bulk storage with automatic replenishment into FBA.
Amazon states that pairing the service with AWD earns discounts on AWD storage and transportation.
New FBA sellers receive an introductory discount on base ocean freight rates after onboarding.
Considerations
Enrollment in Fulfillment by Amazon is required before a seller can use the service.
Origin coverage is limited to mainland China, Hong Kong, and Vietnam, so sellers importing from elsewhere cannot use the program.
Destination coverage is limited to the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Japan.
Shipping directly into Amazon Warehousing and Distribution is currently offered only on China to United States lanes.
Rates are not published, so costs cannot be compared against other forwarders without onboarding and requesting a quote.
The service delivers into Amazon's own network, so it is not a route to a seller's own warehouse or to non-Amazon channels.
Amazon Managed Placement applies carton limits per container, which larger shipments should be checked against.
Amazon's contact form states that a team member will respond within seven business days.
